The Centres are licensed for children aged 2 years to 5 years.  The Red Beach Centre is licensed for a maximum of 30 children.  The Silverdale Centre is licensed for a maximum of 60 children, with two separate rooms that are able to accommodate 30 children in each.  We are committed to retaining a high adult/child ratio of 1:6. All our staff are qualified early childhood teachers or in training.

Enrolment Information

Please contact us by phone, email, or come in and visit one of our Centres to enrol your child.  All families applying to go on the waiting list for placement will need to complete our Enrolment Agreement Form.  Places will be offered to the parents once the Enrolment Agreement has been completed and returned to the office.

Upon enrolling at KingsWay Community Preschool we require copies of the following documents:

  • Enrolment Agreement Form.  To fill out our Enrolment Agreement please click here
  • Immunisation Certificate.  If you have elected not to have your child immunised, please write a short note stating this.
  • Birth Certificate or Passport.  This is required so the Ministry of Education can allocate a national student number for your child.

It is a Ministry of Education requirement that we sight these forms of identification, so your cooperation is appreciated.

All enrolment paperwork must be received before your child can join us at Preschool.

Parent Information

We welcome and encourage parent participation in the Preschool.  Opportunities arise to help with trips and functions and parents are welcome to be involved during session times.  Parents may discuss their child’s progress with Preschool staff at a mutually convenient time.  It is expected that parents will respect and support the Preschool’s special character.  Newsletters are emailed fortnightly.

Delivery and Collection

Please bring your child into the Preschool and sign the arrival and departure book each day.  Only those authorised by the parent on the enrolment form may collect a child, unless staff have received prior notification.  A late fee of $1 per minute shall be payable for children who are picked up after the Centre’s specified end of session time.

Please be considerate of others and keep your child home if he or she is unwell.  You need to notify staff if he/she has contact with, or develops an infectious disease, such as Chickenpox etc.  Please contact the Centre Manager/Team Leader if your child is going to be absent for any reason.  Fees are still charged when your child is absent whether due to sickness or other reasons.

What to bring

Please provide your child with a healthy lunch that they can easily manage independently.  Preschool provides morning and afternoon tea.  They will also need:

  • A change of clothes (named);
  • Lunch box and drink bottle – water only please (named);
  • Sun hat (named) and sunscreen (pre-applied);
  • Bag large enough to carry everything needed.  This needs to be labeled clearly on the outside.

Please do not let your child bring personal toys to Preschool.  We cannot be responsible for their possible breakage or loss.

N.B. We have a healthy food policy for children’s lunch boxes. You are welcome to bring along a fruit platter to celebrate 3rd & 4th birthdays and a birthday cake for 5th birthdays or graduation ceremonies.
